Dr. Mary Leigh Wolfe Elected AIMBE FellowBiological Systems Engineering faculty, Dr. Mary Leigh Wolfe, has been elected into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering’s (AIMBE) College of Fellows for her contributions to biological engineering. The College of Fellows represents the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the field.
According to the AIMBE, Fellows ”…have been at the leading edge of technological development, helping to revolutionize medicine, engineering and related fields that enhance and extend the lives of people all over the world. Counting several Nobel Prize winners among them, their work also helps protect the environment, leads to new national security safeguards and contributes to a better society in many other ways."
Dr. Wolfe will receive this honor at a formal induction ceremony to be held during the Institute’s Annual Event at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. on February 12, 2009.
We in the BSE department are very proud of having faculty members with such distinction and accomplishments.
