Postdoc Position - Pyrolysis Engineering A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Bioresource Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The position requires a Ph.D. in Engineering with a strong background in biomass pyrolysis. The position entails the development of small-scale fluidized bed pyrolysis/catalysis systems for converting biomass feedstocks into bio-oils. Practical experience with biomass pyrolysis, catalysis, and TGA/DSC is highly desirable.
The stipend for the position will be commensurate to the experience of the candidate. This position is funded by special funds and subject to restrictions outlined in the grant or contract; continuation of the position is subject to the continued availability of funds. The position is funded for one year and is expected to be extended, although it is always subject to the continuation of available funding.
