New Website for the Virginia Household Water Quality Program and Virginia Master Well Owner Network

Erin James (BSE Water Quality Extension Associate) announced the launch of a new website for the Virginia Household Water Quality Program and Virginia Master Well Owner Network, www.wellwater.bse.vt.edu. The purpose of this site is to provide information about these two programs and how they work together to protect and improve the quality of private water supplies in Virginia.

The site explains the Virginia Household Water Quality Program's county-based drinking water clinics and provides a listing of upcoming clinics to be held in counties across the state. Clinics are currently being scheduled for 2009 and 2010.

The site also provides resources for trained volunteers and VCE agents participating in the Virginia Master Well Owner Network (VAMWON), including a summary of the topics covered during training, and the volunteer application, expectations and policy. VAMWON resources and impact reporting tools are provided for both VAMWON agents and volunteers.

Links to numerous resources that address groundwater and drinking water quality, and private water system maintenance are included.
