Bioprocess Engineering for Sustainability
2014 Research Experience for Undergraduates
June 9-August 1 (8 weeks)
Virginia Tech

 

This National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) gives undergraduate engineering students the opportunity to perform research and participate in educational programs in biomolecular and bioprocess engineering and enjoy team-building and social activities in Blacksburg, VA.  
 


Stipend: $4,000/summer + room & board

Review of completed applications will begin on February 1, 2014 and will continue
until all spots are filled.  


Research areas include

  • synthetic biology 
  • metabolic/genetic engineering 
  • protein engineering for biopharmaceuticals 
  • sustainable biomaterials

Application process

Applicants should be rising sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate students in any engineering discipline with an interest in biomolecular or bioprocess engineering. Underrepresented minorities and women are particularly encouraged to apply.

Review of completed applications will begin on February 1, 2014 and will continue until all spots are filled.
