Alex Lowe is a BSE Junior from Ashburn, Virginia pursuing the Environmental Health and Watershed Science tracks with a minor in Biodiversity Conservation. He is passionate about applying engineering skills and problem solving techniques to water quality and water supply planning. He is also interested in marine sciences. Alex is a member of the undergraduate Hydrologic Analysis Research Program (HARP) team, where he works with other undergraduate students, professors, and VA Department of Environmental Quality employees to help create visualizations for water supply planning purposes.
Over the summer, he also volunteered for The Salish Sea School, a school that is dedicated to educating young students about marine life and empowering them to protect our oceans. Alex loves to hike, bike, scuba dive, backpack, and travel. He is a gear officer for the Scuba Club at Virginia Tech and member of the Environmental Coalition at Virginia Tech.
Alex chose to be involved with the BSE ambassador program because he loves the versatility and science focus of the program, and wants to help make BSE more well known to future students.
