Virginia Tech and the Department of Biological Systems Engineering are delighted to host the 2022 ASABE Southeastern Region Student Rally, in-person for the first time in three years!

The final program for Rally will include a blend of networking events, interactions with industry leaders, professional development, and sharing experiences with one another.  Our goal is to create an experience that you’ll find both worthwhile and fun.

Having recently celebrated its centennial anniversary, our department embraces the best traditions of its past while helping to create the future, with strong programs in our technical specialties of Watershed Science & Engineering and Biotechnology & Bioprocessing. The Town of Blacksburg, home to Virginia Tech and consistently ranked as one of the most desirable locations in the US, is located in the New River Valley of southwestern Virginia. Regarded as one of the oldest rivers on earth, the New River is an extraordinary natural resource that, together with close proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail, makes the area a premier outdoor destination.

For questions or concerns regarding Rally, please contact Jonathan Czuba at We look forward to welcoming you to Virginia Tech and the Hokie Nation, and we invite you to reach out if we can make your Rally experience more enjoyable.
